Calstock Steamboat Rally - River Tamar

  • 23 Jun 2018
  • 24 Jun 2018
  • Calstock, Cornwall

Ian Richards is organising this which is new this year.

The format will be loosely as follows:

Launch Saturday morning either at a (steep) slip near to the pontoon (free launching and free unlimited parking nearby) or at the local boatyard (charge? - parking back at pontoon) or at Cotehele National Trust (charges? - parking?).

Cruise up river on incoming tide to Wierhead with possible visit to Morwellham 'Working' Village on the way back. Possible pub lunch at the Ship Inn.

Steamboat 'trials' and other fun and games near the pontoon later in the afternoon.

Saturday evening - meal at Calstock Pub with display by local History Society.

Sunday - steam downstream on outgoing tide to Pentillie Castle for Cream Tea.

Return on incoming tide to pull out and go home!

Ian Richards will provide Calstock B&B info here (soon!) and says "Just thought I’d show you a picture of Calstock and the pontoon that the rally has exclusive use of. It's a beautiful riverside location and our parish council, who are very supportive of the event, are providing the pontoon and slipway access free of charge."

This is a class 1 event
