49th Steamboat Association of Great Britain AGM

We are now only a few weeks away from our 49^th AGM and so this is a gentle reminder to you all to register to come along. It would be great to see you all (if a bit chaotic as we can only reasonably accommodate about 250!). Seriously, if you are going to be coming please can you register ASAP as the caterers need numbers. Apologies can be sent to me by replying to this email or via snail mail. There is limited parking available on-site and in the local roads around the school. Stonehouse Railway Station is about 15 minutes walk from the school. Taxis from the Station are available or call Stonehouse Taxis 01453 822555

The great ladies of the School Canteen have again ‘volunteered’ to work on a Saturday so that we can be well fed. The menu will be the similar to last year (Lasagne or Arrabiata pasta bake with green salad and garlic bread with Lemon cake for pud) and very good value at only £11/head. As an added attraction this year the Committee have agreed to offer you all 
FREE Tea/Coffee and biscuits all day!

We will, of course, have the ever-popular Auction (with Andy Hopper as Auctioneer). This year we will have a minimum bid of £5. If you wish to sell items that are likely to fetch less than a fiver either bundle them to make it worth £5 or use the ‘Table Sales’.

We will also have the Annual Photographic Competition judged by last year’s winner, Alan Davis, (for pix taken since the last AGM) so please bring your best Steamboating snaps.

Mike and Liz Bell will be running the SBA Garment Shop. Please remember to order via the newly refurbished website shop well beforehand if you want personalised items brought to the AGM.

The Stonehouse Court Hotel (where many of us stayed last year) are offering us the following deal:

There is a Travelodge (Stonehouse) near the motorway junction (M5 J13) offering rooms from around £34 (as at Jan 2020) - get in quick if you want a good deal! 

There will be a ‘Chairman’s Dinner’, at the Stonehouse Court Hotel on FRIDAY evening. This is limited to 40 people due to the size of the room that the hotel can offer and will be allocated on a first come/first served basis. They also need us to pre-order (menu from me), so please email me with your menu selections ASAP. For those staying at Stonehouse Court the cost can be added your bill, non-residents can pay on the night.
