MALCOLM PROUD

Many of us will be sorry to hear that Malcolm Proud died on 12 April at his home in Durham after a long battle with illness. Malcolm will be remembered as the SBA’s representative for North East England, the organiser of many rallies on Windermere and the River Tees, and the builder and owner of his superb launch, Ceolfrith. When steamboat activities were on hold, Malcolm hosted a number of Zoom meetings at which he entertained us with his excellent video productions, filmed at various events over the years.

Malcolm led an active and interesting life, and, with the editor’s permission, a fuller appreciation will appear in a future edition of Funnel
